Family Therapy

The Family is made up of relationships, by blood or otherwise. These relationships sometimes bring issues within the family. Typically, family issues occur within parent-children, sibling, and co-parenting relationships. Our job at Therabridge is to enhance communication, resolve family issues, understand and respond appropriately to unique family circumstances, and develop a home environment that functions more effectively.

Parent-Child Relationship Therapy

As children go through different stages of development, they tend to pick up new perspectives through certain experiences, the media, or through their peers. A child's development, conduct, or mentality can be adversely affected due to traumatic experiences. A child may acquire undesirable behaviors due to the pressure exerted by their peers. This can occur despite the efforts of the parents to keep them safe from the toxicity of various environments.

Sometimes, parents may employ the training they received from their parents on their children. However, their parents' techniques may not be successful for their children. Most parents do not realize that every child and every family is unique, and some issues may require a different technique.

Some teenagers detest what they consider to be an ongoing parental influence. These children may choose to decline parental aid at a certain age. There is a possibility that some children will participate in unsafe or harmful activities. It is also possible that their parents may be unable to get through to them, or their attempts to encourage these teenagers to get help would be fruitless. The feeling that they have no control over certain situations involving their children may be challenging and upsetting for parents.

How We Help

Parents can learn how to deal with these situations with our assistance. We teach parents how to communicate with their children when the opportunity presents itself. At Therabridge, we assist families in reorganizing and restructuring themselves when certain scenarios or experiences have caused them to behave in a dysfunctional manner. We educate them on the concept of thoughts being the driving force behind feelings, moods, and behaviors. Our family therapy focuses on improving the interaction between family members.

Co-parenting Therapy

After getting a divorce, maintaining an open line of communication with an ex-partner can be difficult. The ability of parents to work together in these situations can be tough, as they may have opposing ideas and react differently to certain situations. Ineffective communication is one of the most common challenges that these individuals face.

In our experience, communication problems are solved when the message is clear, precise, and consistent. A child's emotional health may be negatively affected by their parent's separation and how they handle co-parenting moving forward.

It is not always good to disregard or dismiss a problem as trivial. It is important to communicate and find solutions to various conflicts, alongside a compromise for disagreements. Co-parenting requires you to avoid stifling family issues and instead find solutions.

How We Help

At Therabridge, we put together a strategy that involves both of the child's parents. Such strategies include enabling them to spend quality time with the child. We help you structure a consistent and balanced routine that helps your child feel more comfortable, confident, and reassured. Do you need some assistance in learning to co-parent? Help is available at Therabridge.

Siblings Therapy

Sibling conflict may often lead to fights. Fight between siblings may become intense and may breed grudges. It can also lead to mental health problems such as depression or post-traumatic stress.

It is not uncommon for siblings to engage in intense arguments, bullying, or physical assault on one another. Sibling rivalry may also lead to distancing, where nobody checks on the other person anymore.

How We Help

Our job at Therabridge is to work with siblings and their parents. Our family therapy educates parents on how to mend the dynamics of their families. Not only can our therapy at Therabridge enhance relationships between siblings, but we also provide psychoeducational techniques that can be used to address the underlying causes of disputes.

Parental involvement could be vital for children involved in sibling conflicts. In such cases, our parent-child interaction therapy becomes beneficial to parents. Such counseling can make it easier for parents to provide their children with the additional care they need.
